Tappenkarsee hut

The hike to the Tappenkarsee hut first leads you a short distance along the forest road until it finally goes on a hiking path through the forest and then over the alpine meadows. It is especially beautiful there in early summer when the alpine roses bloom. At Karteistörl you have a fantastic view of the Tappenkarsee, the largest mountain lake in the Eastern Alps. From up there you descend comfortably to the Tappenkarsee hut. Besides a tasty alpine snack, the hut also entices with warm delicacies like Kaiserschmarrn or blueberry pancake. The alpine club hut also offers accommodation.

The Tappenkarsee hut can also be reached from Hüttschlag via the Draugsteinalmen and the Draugsteintörl. The hike can also be started from the neighboring valley Kleinarl and you hike from there to the Tappenkarsee hut. From Jägersee (walking time: approx. 3 1/2 hours) and from Schwabalm (walking time: approx. 2 1/2 hours) you can ascend. You also have the option to do a beautiful circular route.
