Great slopes, predatory pricing, poor value for money!

I am not a good skier. Started to late.
I prefer wide blue slopes to bumpy red ones (like in Obertauern).
I do not need 250 km of slopes because I can not visit them all.

Up to this week (3rd week of February 2026) I spent exactly one day skiing on Turracher Höhe and it was the best skiing experience of my life. I hoped for the repeat.

Unfortunately it was not so!
First, in this week, the slopes are overrun. There is a long wait at all the base stations 10-15 minutes to hitch the first ride. It does not get better throughout the day.
This means you spend approximately 2/3 of the time waiting on the lift or sitting in one and maybe 1/3 of the time going downhill.

And now we come to the pricing!
Daily ticket is 68,50 EUR
It seems very steep for a region with 42 km of slopes and 14 lifts.
For comparison it is cheaper in Obertauern with 100 km of slopes and 28 lifts.
No one can convince me that the costs of running twice as many lifts, plowing over 2.5 times as many slopes should be priced the same.

The next problem is that, there are a lot of people who can / will / do not want to ski for 7 hours (in my opinion majority of skiers) - which is what a daily ticket entitles you to.
But those people are left with no options.

If you buy 4 hour ticket under this crowded conditions you are lucky if you manage 75 minutes of downhill skiing. This fun will set you back 63,50 EURs.
To put that into perspective, that is 93% of the full price for approximately 50% of the service.
Rude, abysmal, unacceptable for me.
Would you buy half a pizza for 14 EUR if the whole pizza cost you 15 EUR.

Cleary those kind of guest are not wanted and are forced to overpay for the service they are not able/willing to use.

Hourly tickets should have an hourly rate - whether I am skiing in Weinebene or Salbach I can make approximately the same amount of km downhill, not 5x more just because Salbach has endless slopes.

And the point system, which should maybe save you from exorbitant hourly tickets, is completely useless.
For 50% of the daily ticket you get enough points to get you to the top of main slope - EXACTLY two times.

It is paradoxical that in the busiest week of the season you pay the most for the s´´´´tiest experience.

I love Turracher, I would love to ski here, but I will not be returnig due to this intentionally predatory pricing.
