/You don't have to travel far to go far; you don't have to seek danger to find adventure. Or not always create something in order to discover something new.

In Austria's south, in the sunny corner of Carinthia, good things are so close: you just have to look, go and get involved - like on the Panoramaweg Südalpen. The Southern Alps Panorama Trail offers everything your heart desires: solitude and sociable life, rugged walls and lovely meadows, unspoilt nature and human culture, racy challenges and family-friendly free zones.

One of the most beautiful sections of the Carinthian Border Trail runs along the Karawanken. The mountain range dominating the Rosental valley is both rugged and gentle. The trail alternates between low mountain stages through forests and across meadows and crossings under steep rock faces.

Some of the stages lead along narrow paths and through less frequented areas, so a good level of fitness and surefootedness are essential, at least on these sections. But there are also some wonderful sections for less experienced hikers.
