Homecoming Festival

By the time of the Almabtrieb, autumn has truly arrived in the Tyrolean mountains, and everyone comes together to bid farewell to summer. At noon in Auffach, at the foot of the Schatzberg, decorated cows are welcomed with applause and folk music. Visitors and locals stroll through the crafts and farmers’ market and enjoy Wildschönau delicacies.

The grand Wildschönau cattle drive on September 19th features a colorful program from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The festival grounds are located at the Schatzbergbahn valley station in the center of Auffach.

At the craft market, there are fascinating crafts to admire.

Local farmers and producers offer their diverse range of products. The selection ranges from delicious cheeses to schnapps specialties.

The Auffach Municipal Band opens the cattle drive at 10:00 a.m. with a procession.

Live music creates a great atmosphere at the festival grounds.

The farmers’ wives, the Auffach Rural Youth, the Auffach Fire Department, the traditional costume association “d’Hoachtoia,” and the Auffach Mountain Rescue provide the perfect culinary accompaniment. The village restaurants are open.

There is a bouncy castle for children.

PRICE INFORMATION:

Admission is free (except for tour groups not staying overnight in Wildschönau)

A cultural contribution is collected from tour groups as a token of appreciation for the participating farmers.
The cultural contribution is €100.00 per tour group that registers in advance (at least 14 days prior).
Please register at info@wildschoenau.com, specifying the tour group and billing address.
Tour groups that have not registered must pay €120.00 on site.

Tour groups staying at accommodations in the Wildschönau (Niederau, Oberau, Auffach, Thierbach) are exempt from this fee
(please specify your accommodation when registering).
