The 5th hiking day leads from St. Martin via the Wildenbach Gorge and the Eibl Chapel to Litzlalm. In the nature park, the route continues over Hirschbichl, the Hintertal valley and the Seisenberg Gorge down to Weißbach.

Course: St. Martin near Lofer – Martins Gorge (Thurnlöcher) – Wildenbach Gorge - Mühlgraben Chapel – Möserwald – Eibl Chapel - Litzlalm (1310 m) – Hirschbichl Pass – Hintertal – Seisenberg Gorge – Weißbach.
We leave the quaint village of St. Martin and hike towards Luftenstein. By passing through the underpass, we are already on the Northern Alpine long-distance hiking trail no. 401.
We cross the Saalach River and after about 100 m turn right into Strohwollner Park.
There you can see a beautiful limestone mountain flora such as cyclamens, violets, anemones and gentians.
The most interesting is the glacial mill “Fuchsloch,” where once a large and a small round basin were eroded out of the rock. You continue along Martins Gorge (Thurnlöcher) and hike on to Wildenbach Gorge. With a steady ascent, you reach the Mühlgraben Chapel, a St. George’s Chapel from 1688 (renovated in the late 1990s).
You hike straight on the asphalt road to the junction towards Möserwald. From there, a forest road leads to the Möserwald hut and to the Eibl junction (a short detour left to the Eibl Chapel is worthwhile), and via the Northern Alpine long-distance trail you reach Litzlalm with a snack station inviting you to rest and offering a wonderful panoramic view of the mountains. Through the high forest, you then take trail no. 35 down to Hirschbichl Pass and the Hirschbichl inn.
The Hirschbichl Pass is only a pedestrian crossing, but from June to October a hiking bus travels several times daily from Weißbach over the Hirschbichl Pass to the neighboring Ramsau to the beautiful Hintersee and back. From the guesthouse you go about 100 m back on the asphalt road and then turn right to Hintertal.
From there you reach the Lohfeyer guesthouse and continue to the Seisenberg Gorge.
In 1831 the Seisenberg Gorge was made accessible to visitors for the first time. Lumberjacks built paths, trails, stairs and bridges. In 1940, a storm destroyed the gorge facilities for the second time, which were restored in 1953 and since 1974 have been a natural monument of the state of Salzburg. The Bavarian coat of arms indicates the fact that the saltworks agreement had already regulated the floating of firewood through the Seisenberg Gorge
and along the Saalach River to the Bavarian town of Bad Reichenhall for heating the salt boiling huts.
Nowadays, you can explore this impressive natural monument on well-developed footbridges in about one hour. The gorge spirit makes a tour through the Seisenberg Gorge an exciting experience for all interested visitors, conveying especially interesting information about nature and the environment at several stations.
After hiking through the Seisenberg Gorge, you will be at the destination of your 5th hiking day in the village of Weißbach within a few minutes.
