... on the way with Kraxl Maxl on an exciting bike route around Lake Tegernsee. At various stations around the lake, questions about the Tegernsee Valley await you. With the right answers, you become a 'junior researcher', 'secret investigator', or 'professional detective' and can win great prizes.
The path around Lake Tegernsee is mostly flat and pleasant to ride.
Along the route, there are numerous places to stop and many playgrounds where you can relax or plan your next route with family and friends.
The entire route is about 28 kilometers and can also be ridden in sections.
Have fun cycling and let's get started!
The bike route described here starts in Tegernsee at the central car park but can be started from any place around Lake Tegernsee.
From the starting point in Tegernsee, the route first leads to Rottach-Egern. After a detour to the museum in the Gsotthaberhof and the natural cheese dairy Tegernseer Land, it goes back to the spa facilities in Rottach-Egern on Lake Tegernsee.
The route then continues always near the lake to Bad Wiessee. Via Gmund, it goes on the lake circuit path back to the starting point in Tegernsee.
The lake circuit path and the path along the Rottach are shared with pedestrians; we ask for mutual consideration.

Holders of BahnCard 100 do not need a separate bike ticket on our trains.
The number of bicycles per vehicle is limited for safety reasons.
Unfortunately, there is basically no entitlement to take bicycles along.
Please remove luggage and bike bags before boarding so that the bikes can be optimally lined up next to each other.
Please use the entrances marked outside with the bicycle symbol and park your bike in the so-called multipurpose area.
The safety of all passengers must be ensured at all times; please keep the emergency routes clear and show consideration for other passengers.
Please follow the instructions of the train staff. Our employees are responsible for safety on the train and decide whether bike transport is still possible when demand is high.
Passengers with wheelchairs or strollers have priority.
Stay close to your bike to hold it if necessary.
Some connections in the morning and evening, mostly between 8 and 11 and 16 and 19 o'clock, are particularly popular. Please consider choosing earlier or later trains if possible. Demand also rises quickly with sudden weather changes.
