The village has truly earned its accolade for its commitment to environmental protection, cultural preservation and the upkeep of its village character.
Außervillgraten, the first village in the Villgratental valley – a side valley of the Tyrolean Hochpustertal in East Tyrol – is located approximately 6 km from Sillian and offers many unique highlights.
Today, the village centre of this scattered settlement is surrounded by the hamlets (districts) of Unterwalden, Unterfelden, Versellerberg and Winkeltal.
Außervillgraten has once again been awarded the Tyrolean Mountain Trail Seal of Quality for the Thurntal Circular Hiking Trail as part of the ‘Safe Mountain Hiking in Tyrol’ initiative.
