This beautiful winter hike on the high plateau of the Schafberg in Gargellen impresses with its stunning panorama. Dominant are the mighty Madrisa (2,770m) to the south as well as the Ritzenspitzen and the Valiseraspitze on the opposite side of the valley. Downstream, the Rütihorn with its broad rock massif is clearly visible. Benches invite you to rest.
The mountain restaurant Schafberg Hüsli at the mountain station of the Schafbergbahn ensures culinary enjoyment and is known for its excellent cuisine. The homemade strudels and cakes in the afternoon come highly recommended.
From the mountain station of the Schafbergbahn Gargellen (2,130m), this winter hiking trail initially leads towards the Valzifenzlift. Blue signs with the inscription "Winter hiking trail" as well as pink snow poles mark the path. At the height of the Valzifenzlift, the trail takes a left curve towards the Kristallbahn. This path is flat and offers a great panorama. Near the Kristallbahn valley station, the winter hiking trail descends to the right into a small loop. Return on the same path.
