The forest educational trail was created in cooperation with ThüringenForst, the Rennsteig Association, the German Forest Protection Association (Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald e. V.), the Lions Club Eisenach, and the city of Eisenach.
Along the trail, curious forest explorers will find 20 information boards about the local nature, including forest inhabitants, various trees, and litter. The newly gained knowledge can be immediately tested. Along the route, quiz questions can be answered at 15 points. Additionally, sporty discoverers can get active themselves at six stations, for example, in cone throwing, on the wooden xylophone, and at the animal long jump pit. Four benches are provided for small breaks. Here you can listen to the voices of the forest. At the end of the educational trail, there is a large adventure area that offers plenty of space for playing and romping around.

Please behave considerately in the forest to protect flora and fauna. Do not leave the designated path, do not take any plants with you, and leave no trash behind. Follow the instructions of the forestry staff and pay attention to restrictions due to forestry work.
By car, you arrive via the A4 motorway (Eisenach-West or Eisenach-Ost exit) or via federal roads B7, B19, and B84. The start of the hike is near B84 and B19.
The forest educational trail is located near a small garden allotment area. Therefore, public parking spaces are not immediately near the forest educational trail. We recommend parking your car at a park & ride parking lot, one of the Eisenach parking garages or lots, and using the bus for the rest of your journey.
You can comfortably reach the city of Eisenach both by regional buses and various trains (long-distance and regional trains). Use the Deutsche Bahn travel information. This portal also lists all regional transport providers.
The following lines will take you to the "Stedtfelder Straße" stop, the starting point of this hike:
City bus line 2 from ZOB/main station, Karlsplatz or market City bus lines and 25 from ZOB/main station, Karlsplatz or market (Night bus line N35)Alternatively, you can also travel to the "Untere Kasseler Straße" stop (lines 2, 9, 15, 25) or to the "Karlskuppe" stop (lines 5, 9, 25). The walk to the beginning of the trail may be somewhat longer then.
