Welcome to the Grazerhütte
The Grazerhütte was built in 1928. The house is owned by the 'Alt-Herren-Verband' of the 'Akademischen Turnvereines'' student fraternity (ATV) in Graz.
The Grazerhütte has a long history at the Tauplitzalm. The famous mountaineer and Dalai Lama-friend Heinrich Harrer led the Grazerhütte between 1933-1934. Heinrich Harrer was also a member of the ATV Graz.
In summer, the lake plateau of Tauplitzalm, with its beautiful karst landscapes and interesting vegetation is a very popular hiking area. It is one of the most beautiful upland lake plateaus of Europe. The 6 picturesque mountain lakes (Krallersee, Märchensee, Großsee, Tauplitsee and Steiersee) have drinking water quality. They are surrounded by species-rich, high-karst alpine flora and easy to hike to. In spring and autumn, the alpine flowers put on a wonderful show and in autumn the larch forest put the countryside in glorious colours.
We have 6 rooms (double-, three-, four-, and six- person bedrooms as well as a 6-person comfortroom with own shower and sink) and two dormitories (12 and 14 beds). Bedding is included. Toilets can be found on every floor and the on the first floor you can find the sanitary facilities for woman and men with shower and sink.
In our cosy ‘hut’ we serve our guests warm and cold regional dishes and 'Almspecialities'. You can enjoy a cold beer from the barrel, excellent wines and schnapps.
We also offer free internet, books and games. For children there are toys, games and outside you will find our sand pit.

- Above mentioned prices are plus tourist tax a person a night (for persons 16 years and older)
- If the stay last only one night we calculate once a fee of € 9,00 a person (just in summer). For groups up to 5 adults or more we can give you a discount on this one-night fee.
- In summer you are able to drive by car to the Grazerhütte, only to transfer the luggage. It is not possible to park at the Grazerhütte.
- Single room supplement € 20,00
- For the comfort bedroom (extra large room with 6 beds, own shower and sink) we ask an extra fee of € 22,00 a night for the room. We have one comfortroom at the Grazerhütte.

- With great pleasure we create tailor made offers for groups, please contact us for further information
- Our kitchen takes care of your special wishes at the half board, for example lactose free, vegan of special wishmenus. We ask a fee of € 8,00 a day for the special wishes during the half board, vegetarians do not pay an extra fee. Please inform us before.
- In summer we offer halfboard in the evening. The 3-course menu costs for adults € 23,50 and for children up to 10 years € 14,50. If you are vegetarian, please inform us before so that we can offer you a vegetarian dish.
- Check-in from 15:00 o´clock, check-out until 11:00 o´clock by departure.
- Winter: From the parking place at the end of the so called ´Alpenstrasse´ we can pick up luggage and transport it to the hut. Prices are € 10,00 per person for the luggage with a minimum of € 60,00 a ride.
- We ask a downpayment of 30% of the total overnight costs.
