The route along the Kokemäenjoki river delta features extensive boardwalks, adding a pleasant atmosphere. In summer, a special feature of the Polsanluoto loop is the opportunity to cross the riverbed using a hand-operated ferry, which is truly worth experiencing. There is plenty of fun for the whole family on the trail!
The route is part of Pori's national urban park, a network of the most valuable green areas and parks in the city center. Along the urban park's routes, you will find lots of interesting nature and cultural history, see more: National Urban Park story map
The Polsanluoto loop is a short nature trail of about 1 km in length. The path starts from Hanhipuisto Park. The route crosses the Kokemäenjoki riverbed via a bridge to Polsanluoto. The nature trail circles around Polsanluoto. You can choose your own direction. At the northern end of Polsanluoto, there is a hand-operated ferry, allowing you to cross the Kokemäenjoki river if you wish. The ferry operates only during the summer season, typically from May to November. In summer, you can take the ferry from the northern end of Polsanluoto to the Hanhipuisto side and also return along a park presenting the trees, shrubs, and flowering plants of Satakunta back to the start of the route.
