You start the hike at the Stein-Bauer parking lot, where you can park your car for free. From the goods road, a narrow track first steeply ascends to the left, then continues gently rising through the forest towards the Gründecksattel and further on via the signposted paths towards Hochgründeck. Worth seeing: the Peace Chapel above the Heinrich-Kiener-Haus, on the St. Rupert pilgrimage route.
The Hochgründeck is one of the highest forested mountains in Europe and counts among the most beautiful viewing mountains in Austria. The relatively long route is rewarded with a view of about 300 peaks (Hochkönig, Tennengebirge, Dachstein, Lower and High Tauern, Kitzbühel Alps and Dientner Schieferberge).

Hochgründeck - The Healer
The benevolent queen had a close relationship with her healer: he was her teacher in many things. From him, she learned to respect and accept life with its ups and downs. And she realized that everything has its time: sometimes patient waiting and silence are needed, sometimes active involvement is necessary to change fate. Learn from the healer how powerful the force of silence is and why outer peace can only be achieved through inner peace.
