The route starts in the town center of Bramberg and leads westward to Weichseldorf. After a short section on asphalt, it continues over a forest road to the Walsberg High Alpine Pasture and further to the Wildkogelhaus. Here you already enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain landscape.
Afterwards, the path leads over the mountain station of the Smaragdbahn to the mountain station of the Wildkogelbahn. Passing the Wolkenstein Chapel, a short detour to the Braunkogel reservoir pond is worthwhile, a rewarding viewpoint for a short rest.
The descent goes via the Gensbichl valley station to the cozy Steineralm, where a stop for refreshments is recommended.
Then it continues over the Dürnbach valley and the Rossberg to the town center of Neukirchen. From here, you ride back to the starting point in Bramberg via the Tauern Cycle Path.
