TG14 Hornspitz-Runde

Start of the tour in the center of Rußbach, in front of the church. Continue on the main road towards Abtenau. At kilometer 3.7 turn left onto a side street. Follow this road up to KM 5.9 uphill and here, at a farm, turn left. After 300 meters turn left again on the paved road. At the last farms on the gravel road straight towards Edtalm drive. On gravel it continues until at KM 9.6 the Klockaualm is reached. Once again it gets a bit steeper before you reach a crossroads after a gravel pit. Turn left again towards Edtalm and follow the dirt road to the pasture. Behind the Edtalm turn left, direction Hornspitz. First briefly downhill, you drive later along ski slopes and lifts until you have reached at KM 16.9 the mountain station Hornspitz. In any case, it's worth taking a short break to enjoy the view of Dachstein in the southeast and Gamsfeld in the north. From here steeply downhill, along a path along the slope until you reach a forest road again at a reservoir. Follow this path downhill to the left, via the middle station Hornbahn. At KM 18.9 turn left onto a path to the "Franzlalm". From the "Franzlalm" on the asphalt road downhill to the main road and on this back to the starting point in Rußbach.

Mountain bike, helmet, rain jacket and a snack are recommended.

Attention: On the descent from the mountain station Hornspitz very loose ground.

Coming from the A10 motorway, take the exit Golling direction Abtenau and Russbach. From Bad Ischl you drive via Bad Goisern and Gosau to Russbach.

You will find enough parking area in the center of Russbach or at the valley station of the Hornbahn Russbach.

A visit to Bruno's mountain world at the Horn is very rewarding.
