You reach the Certosa di Montebenedetto, where it is possible to admire the abbey church, restored between 1987 and 2000. Of the entire monastic complex, consisting of an Upper House and a Lower House, or Correria, only a few traces remain, illustrated in a self-guided route in 8 stages (equipped with explanatory panels) that can be completed in about 30 minutes.
For the descent, cross the Rio Molesecco on a beautiful stone bridge and follow the signs for the Certosa di Banda (trail no. 523, then no. 512). The trail descends steeply to the Gravio stream, which can be crossed by a ford, then reaches the hamlet of Banda, where the homonymous Certosa stands (not visitable).
From Banda, cover the last stretch of road to return to the village.
Route passable all year round. Due to its northern exposure, in winter months it is possible to find snow or ice.
From the A32 Turin-Bardonecchia motorway, exit at the Borgone di Susa junction and follow the signs for Villar Focchiardo, bringing yourself to the opposite bank of the Dora. Follow the signs for the town center until you reach Piazza Abegg.
Leave the car in Piazza Abegg, or alternatively, in Piazza I Maggio slightly above.

At the Certosa di Montebenedetto there is an active stopover, created by the Piedmont Region and managed by local shepherds. The facility offers a large dining room and kitchen, as well as shared rooms with 5-6 beds each, for a total of 23 beds available. The stopover is open from June 1st (with the possibility of earlier opening) until October 31st. Reservation is mandatory and must be made by contacting the Park Authority at the number 0122 47064.
Particularly evocative route in autumn, when the beech and chestnut woods are dyed in the warm colors of the season.
