Turn onto the D993 to follow the Gorges de la Voueize, a wooded jewel of this part of the Combrailles. Then reach Lussat and the Étang des Landes, the largest natural pond in Limousin, home to an extraordinary ornithological treasure where specialists from around the world come to observe many endangered species such as the spotted crake, the purple heron, the osprey, or the common crane.
Take the D915 back to Gouzon and via the D40 then the D55 at Saint-Loup, reach Chénérailles, a typical Creuse town bearing the gracious marks of many eras it has crossed since the Middle Ages. The Château de Villemonteix (15th century), faithfully restored, is a true Creuse pride and open to the public.
Continue the loop towards Peyrat-la-Nonière via the D4 and at "Lachaud", leave the D4 and take the D24 to Sannat, then at the hamlet "les Rieux" finish your route on the D19 back to Evaux les Bains.
