Since earliest times, Bad Erlach has been a settlement area on Roman trade routes, at the border between the duchies of Styria and Austria. Shaped by its location at the edge of the Steinfeld and the Bucklige Welt, the plain opens here and gives the place a special charm. It combines Burgenland influences with the Lower Austrian surroundings.

Testimonies of the past reach throughout Austrian history: the medieval Ulrich Church, Linsberg Castle as a place of protection, the Harathof from the second Christian colonization period, the village street shaped by the farming community, and remains of industrialization. All this is integrated into the burgeoning town without denying its historical diversity.

The Cultural Hiking Trail opens up the culture and history of this lesser-known region of Lower Austria. It spans a arc from the historical beginnings through industrialization to the modern wellness oasis, conveying the unity of landscape, history, and culture.

Accompanying persons bookable via the municipal office.
