This hike starts at the Bäckwirt in Maria Luggau (below the basilica) and first leads down to the Gail. At the Rauter bridge, turn right onto the paved road up to the B111. Then follow the B111 past the village of Wacht and continue to the end of a long straight section, where we turn left again onto the Gail hiking trail. From there, hike along the idyllic Gail trail westwards until we finally reach the destination, the village of Obertilliach.
