The path from the Moosalp to the viewpoint “Stand” leads through a unique nature reserve with typical raised and flat bogs. At the Stand, you enjoy breathtaking views of the Rhône valley and the magnificent mountain world of the Valais and Bernese Alps. A special charm is offered by the small mountain lakes Boniger- and Breitmattsee along the route. A variety of cozy spots and an unexpectedly diverse alpine flora let you forget the everyday and recharge your energy.
The start and finish point is the Moosalp. From the Moosalp, you pass the alp barn and head out into the beautiful nature of the high plateau. The path is flat, starting wide and then becoming increasingly narrow. There are many routes to reach the first point, the Stand. This viewpoint is one of the most visited places on the Moosalp and offers you a wonderful panoramic view of the region. Then it goes gently downhill to the Bonigersee. At the beginning of summer, this is a proper lake; afterwards, the term bog is more appropriate. After the Bonigersee, the path continues downhill to the Breitmattsee. This is a small lake beautifully situated and perfect as a photo spot. After the Breitmattsee, it continues downhill to the Breitmatte. This is a large clearing in the vast forest area of the Moosalp region. Upon reaching the large stone house at the Breitmatte, turn left towards Ledi. The path continues gently downhill before turning left uphill again at Ledi towards the Bürchneralp. Here, the mountain restaurant Panorama invites you to enjoy a fine raclette, before you tackle the last stretch to the Moosalp.
