Carry sun protection. UV rays at high altitude can be very strong, even in cloudy weather.

Plan your hike carefully: consider the required fitness of all participants, weather forecasts, and seasonal conditions.

Weather conditions in the mountains can change very quickly and without warning. Appropriate clothing and enough provisions (food and drink) are very important. Turn back early in bad weather.

Do not go onto glaciers without a mountain guide.

Observe warning signs indicating dangers.

Inform others about your route and, if possible, never go alone.

Pay attention to the opening hours of mountain railways.

The Saas Valley is easily and conveniently accessible by car from all directions, whether from Switzerland or from abroad. From the north, you reach us via Bern through the Lötschberg car shuttle. From the east, come via the Furka Pass or the Furka car shuttle. From the south, we are reachable via the Simplon Pass or the Simplon car shuttle and from the west you drive via Lausanne along the Rhone valley to Visp and from there towards Saas-Fee. From Visp head south towards Saas-Fee. Follow the road to Stalden.

Take the SBB to Visp, change at Visp to the post bus (bus 511) or the Matterhorn-Gotthard railway towards Stalden-Saas. From Stalden-Saas the aerial cableway goes up to Gspon.

Parking garage available at the station in Stalden.

The high-altitude route is part of the Swiss Alpine Pass Route (No. 6) from Chur (GR) to St. Gingolph (VS).
