The route crosses typical environments of the Cansiglio plateau, among extensive forests and scenic stretches, alternating climbs and false-floors that make the ride varied and never monotonous. The elevation gain and length make it suitable for trained cyclists, but thanks to the use of e-bikes it can also be tackled by those who want a more accessible experience.
The asphalt surface provides good smoothness, while the generally low traffic allows you to enjoy the scenery in peace. A tour recommended for those looking for a scenic and rewarding route, perfect for discovering Cansiglio in the saddle, with a good balance between physical commitment and pedaling pleasure.
From Alpago, on the other hand, follow the signs for Cansiglio by climbing up through the road that connects Farra d'Alpago to the Cansiglio plain, reaching directly the village of Campon, the starting point of the tour.
Road or gravel bike (also e-bike), mandatory helmet, technical cycling clothing, repair kit, water bottle, lights and goggles.
Before setting off, check the weather conditions and plan the route. Even if they are paved roads, pay attention to traffic and curves, especially in wet conditions.
From Alpago, on the other hand, go through Farra d'Alpago and directly follow the SP422 of Cansiglio, which goes through the forests of the plateau leading to the village of Campon.
In the area there are several free parking lots and large spaces surrounded by woods, easily accessible from the Cansiglio SP422.
