CESANA T.SE Cesana T.se - Bousson

The route starts in front of the Cesana Tourism Office (Piazza Vittorio Amedeo, 3) at about 1350 m altitude. Immediately you cross the Ripa on the flowered bridge that gives access to the central part of the village; just after the bridge turn left onto Via XXIV Maggio and go along it completely until the asphalt gives way to a wide dirt track which continues along the river course, which soon turns into a path through the woods. In a clearing at about 1390 m altitude, after walking about 1.8 km, there is a three-way junction: continue straight along the Ripa ignoring the uphill path towards the quarries, as well as the path back to Cesana. The route becomes particularly charming as it runs close to the river; at an altitude of about 1450 m there is a wooden bridge that gives access to the main road towards Bousson; however, continue for about 1 km on the path until you reach a clearing near the settlement of Bousson; from here, crossing the bridge to the left you can possibly reach the old village for a visit.

A section of the route runs near the riverbed, so pay attention in spring during possible flood periods.

From Torino follow the signs for the Tangenziale Nord towards Trafori - Frejus. Take the A32 motorway towards Bardonecchia and exit at Monginevro Sestriere. After the tunnel exit, continue to the right towards Cesana.

Train from Torino P.N. to Bardonecchia (stops at Oulx-Cesana-Claviere-Sestriere) + Bus Arriva line 285 from Oulx to Cesana.

Parking possible just after Piazza Vittorio Amedeo, along Viale V Novembre (direction Bousson) paying attention to parking time limits or, continuing along the same avenue, at the free parking lot in front of the ski lifts.

Before undertaking any hike, it is recommended to check the weather reports or ask for information at local Tourism Offices. It is good practice not to hike alone and always inform someone of your destination.
