Le Strade dei Forti - stage 13a Detour towards the Gran Tour del Monviso

If you intend to reach the Monte Granero refuge, you cross the Conca (about 1 hour) following the signs for the Granero Refuge. Arriving at the bottom of the basin, where the last huts of Partia d’Amunt are, it is possible to choose between two routes to reach the Granero Refuge: on the right you can take the ‘stone path’, with a gentler climb, or on the left you can take the ‘larch path’.

Both lead to the plateau called Pian Sineive (where the remains of a World War II airplane are found) and then to the Granero Refuge. Both ascents take place on beautiful, well-marked paths, with truly striking panoramic views.

At the beginning of summer, you walk, in some sections, in a sea of rhododendrons. In the final part of the path, you begin to see the flag of the Granero refuge.

Around the refuge, signage indicates the route to follow if you want to join the Gran Tour del Monviso.
