>ul< >li< Gionzana - Oratory of Madonna del Latte: The small church, once called Santa Maria della Scaglia, rises in the middle of the rice fields close to Gionzana. Inside, a rich cycle of 15ththththththcentury frescoes, skilfully restored, represent the saints most dear to popular devotion, in addition to the Madonna Addolarata; the highly venerated effigy dedicated to the Madonna del Latte, was stolen in the 1970s, and has been temporarily replaced by a reproduction.>/li< >li< Biandrate – Church of San Colombano: mentioned as early as 1146, it presents a Romanesque atrium, decorated with frescoes of the Last Judgement (1444) by Giovanni De Campo>/li< >li< Casalbeltrame – Oasis of the Casalbeltrame Marsh:The nature reserve situated in the area of Casalbeltrame, Casalino and Biandrate is characterised primarily by rice-cultivated lands. This particular habitat is popular with migratory birds and other species that reach the nearby banks of the River Sesia to reproduce, while the nearby rice fields are a source of nourishment.>/li< >li< Casalbeltrame - Museum of Agricultural Tools 'l civel >span/span/li< >li< San Nazzaro Sesia - Abbey of Santi Nazario e Celso:Founded in 1040 by Riprando dei Conti di Biandrate and Bishop of Novara, it is an imposing fortified complex. Inside, there is the 15ththththththcentury three nave church in Gothic-Lombard style built entirely of terracotta, with exquisite frescoes that date from the same period. Interesting cycle of paintings with the stories of St. Benedict in the cloister. >/li< >li< San Nazzaro Sesia - Shrine of Madonna della Fontana:built around 1590 to be demolished and re-built in the second half of the 18th century; of the older building remains the miraculous image of the Madonna, under which flows the ancient fountain.>/li< >li< San Nazzaro Sesia–Museum of Stumps:roots modelled by Piero Baudo>/li< >li< Regional Nature Park “Lame” del Sesia: the Park environment is typically fluvial with lame (blades in English, are formations of swamps coming from coves abandoned by the river and that have modified the river’s flow), bodies of water, pebbles and sands; a natural oasis inserted into an environment characterised by rice monoculture. Ideal habitat for aquatic fauna and rare autochthonous vegetation.>/li< >li< Casalvolone – Church of St. Peter: built as a pieve in the 12th century, it is situated in the cemetery on the outskirts of the village. It has three naves with apses; the spans are covered by ribbed cross vaults. The 15ththththththcentury frescoes that decorate the walls and apse area are exquisite. Interesting same-age five-storey bell tower enriched by hanging arches. >/li< >li< Ponzana-Casalino - Oratory of San Martino:The ancient Oratory of San Martino came to light during the restoration work in Casa Shalom. It is enriched by important 15ththththththand 16ththththththcentury frescoes.>/li< >li< Ponzano-Casalino – Butterfly Garden:the former cemetery, no longer in use for 50 years and recently recovered, is now home to an interesting and unique Butterfly Garden. The presence of tree essences that attract different species of butterflies make it an ideal place for butterfly watching.>/li< >/ul<
