We leave the city of textiles and stolen breadsticks heading east, through fields and rural areas, before bending north and riding some gentle climbs. Arignano, with the village perched on a rise and the lake on its slopes, is a good reason for an initial stop. You then climb toward Marentino, a quaint village with the originality of the rebuses painted on the outside walls of the houses. The landscape begins to change: vineyards and woods replace cultivated expanses. You reach Sciolze, on the watershed of the Turin hills, with views beginning to open up to the Alpine arc as well. An undulating secondary road leads to Cinzano and its splendid belvedere, which on clear days also allows glimpses of Mount Cervino. With a long dicesa through the woods, skirting the Bosco del Vaj e Bosc Grand nature reserve, we finally reach Casalborgone, with its castle dominating the top of the fortress.
