This area is part of the larger Ivrea Morainic Amphitheater, one of the largest and best-preserved in Europe, a testimony to the action of glaciers that shaped the Canavese landscape. It consists of a set of hills, depressions, and moraine ridges created by the retreat of the Balteo glacier during the last ice age.
Castellamonte, a village known for its tradition in ceramics where numerous artisan workshops can be found. Agliè is famous for the Ducal Castle, one of the most beautiful Savoy residences in Piedmont, surrounded by a large park. The historic center, with its narrow streets and old houses, is a pleasant place to explore. San Giorgio Canavese is a village rich in history, with its castle overlooking the town. Vialfrè is a small rural village characterized by a peaceful atmosphere and scenic landscapes such as the Pianezze nature reserve. The route then returns to Castellamonte, closing the loop.
