Path from Hochegg to Burg Grimmenstein

<p>Starting from the village square Hochegg, follow the Himberger Straße. Through the hamlet Himberg and the hamlet Eben, at the end of the hamlet Eben turn right and follow the signposts towards the castle.</p>

<p>Always take suitable maps with you. Wear sturdy shoes appropriate for the route, bring sun and rain protection as well as water and a snack. Take your mobile phone and save the emergency numbers for rescue services: Rescue 144 / Mountain Rescue 140</p>

Inform yourself beforehand about the weather forecast. The weather in the mountains can change unexpectedly fast. Therefore, always start out properly equipped (e.g., rain protection).</p><p>Check if the huts and snack stations you plan to visit on the way are open. Inform someone about your chosen route and your planned return before you set off.</p>

<p>From the Südautobahn A2 take the Grimmenstein exit, then left on Wechselbundesstraße, pass through the village of Grimmenstein and before the intersection towards Aspang turn right to Hochegg.</p>

<p>At the village entrance of Hochegg there is a large car park, also opposite the former Gasthof zur Linde.</p>
