From here, follow the path that runs alongside the San Giovanni stream, passing the Nepomuceno capital and continuing uphill among small waterfalls and pools of water until you reach La Milanesa (200 metres).
Cross the small bridge on the left, and you arrive at a point where several trails branch off.
Now follow trail number 101 on the right, also known as the Antonioli path, and begin to climb a steep dirt road that penetrates more and more into the valley.
After a few minutes, you will pass by a picturesque waterfall on the left and find the first furnace a little further on.
Generally, the furnaces are vat-shaped. The base has a diameter that varies from 3 to 5 meters, and a height of 2 to 4 meters, while the load-bearing masonry is made of fire-resistant stones. There are about 170 of them in the Alto Garda area.
They are almost always found near the bed of a river or along the slopes of a valley. In the past, they were considered a source of wealth, as the use of lime was widespread, not only in construction but also in agriculture.
There are several signs on this hike explaining their use and history.
Behind us is a beautiful view of Lake Garda in the distance.
Continuing uphill, you reach a trail crossroads (780 metres from Milanesa), where, near the stream bed, there are signs directing you to turn right onto trail 137 Cima Mughera Creste EE (expert hikers), a path that this itinerary will follow for a short stretch.
We then leave this dirt road (we will join it again later), go right and cross the stream bed.
Now start to climb up the right side of the valley and reach a second furnace immersed in the vegetation.
The trail becomes narrower and steeper, leaves the vegetation, and begins to climb on rocks and ridges, which should be taken with particular care.
The panorama that opens up in this spot embraces the peaks of the Singol Valley, a wild and unique environment in all of Lake Garda.
Continue steeply uphill, and you reach another crossroads with signs. Be careful here so as not to take the wrong trail. Otherwise, you would go on the path of the ridges that leads to Cima Mughera.
The right direction is trail 137B - Mulattiera Val del Singol.
The trail leaves the rocks, veers into scenic grassy areas, and then begins to descend into the woods.
You reach the dirt road near Ponte degli Olmi, where you cross the stream and reach another cove, the prettiest one, where there is also a table with benches overlooking Lake Garda.
From this point, you continue on the dirt road to Milanesa, and then the excursion ends in Limone.
