The trail runs through varied terrain in the forest shade, by rocky edges, and in a fairy-tale-like moss forest, occasionally diverting to the Myllylampi outdoor and recreation area. The terrain is a mix of landscapes characteristic to Miehikkälä. Along the trail, you can explore Finnish mythology and folklore. The terrain is partly challenging and includes boardwalk sections, wetlands, and elevation changes.
The trail length is about 4 km and is marked in the terrain with orange poles and paint marks. The recommended direction is clockwise. The rocks and boardwalks may be slippery at times; please remember to exercise caution while moving. The trail is not maintained in winter, but it is allowed and recommended to use it also in winter.
A snack break completes the adventurer’s trip in nature. There are two resting places by the Myllylampi shore, at Sihkarinkallio and near the swimming beach. At Sihkarinkallio, there is an open lean-to shelter available for use with fire pits, a reservable kota hut, water point, woodshed, and toilets. Next to the open hut by Myllylampi is a sandy beach with a pier equipped with a diving tower, changing rooms, and toilets.
You can start the trip smoothly from Esterannantie 8 and from the Myllylampi starting point at Tanssilavantie. Alternatively, you can start from the Salpa Line Museum, where you can leave your car and walk to the starting point via Korsutie.
Follow the orange pole and paint markings. The recommended direction is clockwise.
