Hike on the trails of past times. Times when the borders between states were strictly controlled. 13 exciting stations around the formerly well-guarded border await you on the themed route from Arnoldstein to the Dreiländereck. Embark on the journey and learn more about this unique place. Here, not only the border regions of the three countries Austria, Slovenia and Italy meet at one point, but also the largest language families of Europe.
Once at the summit, enjoy the magnificent view of the Lower Gail Valley, the Villach basin, and the Julian Alps, relax on the comfortable lounge chairs, and learn more about the countries your gaze sweeps over.
A constant companion on the way is "Arni," who explains the individual adventure stations to children in an age-appropriate way and indicates the location with his "shadow".
The themed route starts at the valley station of the Dreiländereck cable cars and leads on wide, partly steep and rocky paths (trail no. 691) to the mountain restaurant Drei-Länder-Treff. You can also start the second stage by taking the triple chairlift. After a first stop with a view of the Dobratsch landslide area, you follow the path (trail no. 603) further westwards and reach the Dreiländereck hut with a gentle descent. At the latest on the return journey, you should take a short break at the Hüttenkult host. From the Dreiländereck hut, you ascend westward over a wide path or lush alpine meadows to the summit of the Dreiländereck – the meeting point of Slovenia, Italy, and Austria.

Follow the A2 or B83 or B111 to Arnoldstein. At the western edge of the town, an asphalt road branches off to the valley station of the ski and hiking area Dreiländereck (Seltschach).
Arnoldstein and Seltschach are regularly accessible by public transport.
There is ample parking at the valley station of the Dreiländereck cable cars.
The Dreiländereck cable cars offer summer cable car operation until the end of October 2025.
