A hike through the idyllic and quiet landscape in the heart of the Mostland. The mild climate is balm for the troubled soul and also shapes agriculture with fruit growing and countless quality products, such as apple juice, cider, or single-variety fruit schnapps.
From the municipal office, head south towards Andersdorf and continue to the small settlement of Fransdorf. Following the signage to the left on a small road, you will finally reach the Parz farmstead. From here, take forest and meadow paths back to the starting point.

10 Recommendations from the Austrian Alpine Club (ÖAV)
As a nature sport, mountain hiking offers great opportunities for health, community, and experience. The following recommendations from the alpine clubs serve to make mountain hikes as safe and enjoyable as possible.
1. Healthy to the mountainsMountain hiking is endurance sport. The positive physical stimuli for heart and circulation require health and a realistic self-assessment. Avoid time pressure and choose a pace so that no one in the group runs out of breath.
2. Careful planningHiking maps, guide literature, internet, and experts provide information about length, elevation difference, difficulty, and current conditions. Always tailor tours to the group! Pay special attention to the weather forecast, as rain, wind, and cold increase the risk of accidents.
3. Complete equipmentAdjust your equipment to your undertaking and pay attention to a low backpack weight. Rain, cold, and sun protection should always be in the backpack, as well as a first aid kit and mobile phone (European emergency number 112). Map or GPS support orientation.
4. Appropriate footwearGood hiking boots protect and relieve the foot and improve surefootedness! When choosing, pay attention to perfect fit, non-slip sole, waterproofing, and low weight.
5. Surefootedness is keyFalls caused by slipping or tripping are the most common cause of accidents! Note that too high a speed or fatigue severely affect your surefootedness and concentration. Beware of rockfall: careful walking prevents loosening stones.
6. Stay on marked trailsIn pathless terrain, the risk of disorientation, falls, and rockfall increases. Avoid shortcuts and return to the last known point if you leave the path. Often underestimated and very dangerous: steep old snowfields!
7. Regular breaksTimely rest serves recovery, enjoyment of the landscape, and sociability. Eating and drinking are necessary to maintain performance and concentration. Isotonic drinks are ideal thirst quenchers. Muesli bars, dried fruit, and biscuits satisfy hunger on the way.
8. Responsibility for childrenNote that variety and playful discovery are the focus for children! In sections with fall risk, only one adult can supervise one child. Very exposed tours requiring long-lasting concentration are not suitable for children.
9. Small groupsSmall groups ensure flexibility and enable mutual help. Inform trusted persons about destination, route, and return. Stay together in the group. Beware of solo hikers: even small incidents can lead to serious emergencies.
10. Respect for nature and environmentTo protect mountain nature: do not leave waste, avoid noise, stay on paths, do not disturb wild and grazing animals, leave plants untouched and respect protected areas. Use public transport for arrival or form car sharing.
