Deceleration between lake and mountain touches®
The Zwergsee route Millstatt combines the gentle lake and mountain landscape of Lake Millstatt in a picturesque circular route. The starting point is the idyllic village of Kleindombra, from where the path leads through the soothing mixed forests of the Millstätter Plateau. Up to the sparkling Zwergsee, the route at the Forest Stage offers an impressive view of Lake Millstatt and the historic villas in Millstatt. A highlight of this trail is the Forest Stage, a viewing platform that offers breathtaking views of the surroundings. To protect nature, we ask you to observe the leash requirement for dogs and dispose of dog bags in the designated containers to keep the path in perfect condition for everyone.

The Zwergsee route Millstatt leads from the Kalvarienberg car park through the village of Kleindombra. Over an almost flat forest path, the hiker reaches the "Forest Stage on Luschan Height," a viewing platform with views of Lake Millstatt. The circular route continues to the Zwergsee, located in the middle of the forest, where benches invite you to linger. Up to this point, the path is stroller-friendly.
After the walk around Zwergsee, the hike returns the same way to the Kalvarienberg car park, from where it started.

The UNESCO Biosphere Park Nockberge
Imposing, mighty, and unique – the UNESCO Biosphere Park Carinthian Nockberge is an alpine gem with unique natural treasures, a diverse cultural landscape, and rare animal and plant species. For centuries, people have lived here in harmony with nature. Gently hilly with peaks over 2400 meters and picturesque alpine meadows – the Biosphere Park Carinthian Nockberge is a rare nature idyll amidst the Austrian Alps and covers an area of around 500 square kilometers.
In 2012 it was designated a biosphere park by UNESCO. The park is based on the three pillars of sustainability: ecological balance, economic security, and social justice. Life here is in harmony with nature, respecting and valuing the rare animal and plant world.
Regional products, processed according to old traditions, testify to careful work following handed-down recipes. Trained biosphere park rangers promise unforgettable tours for families, and in several educational programs, this knowledge is passed on to pupils. No matter what time of year a visit is made, the biosphere park always offers a treasure chest full of experiences.
