The route begins at the parking lot of the former Brugstallofenbahn, which has been out of operation since 2021. At the starting point, there is a ticket machine for ski tourers (note: cashless payment only!), where day or season tickets for ski touring can be purchased. The price for a day ticket is €10 (as of winter season 24/25).
Follow the tracks along the former slope, crossing the Panorama Trail several times. Hiking along this trail, which is also popular with winter hikers and sledders, is an alternative. Approximately halfway along, near the mountain station of the Burgstallofenbahn, there is a staffed checkpoint for ski tourers. Continue along the road towards the Großer Speikkogel, with the large radar station always visible as a landmark. Those who wish can take a detour to the Steinschneider summit and then continue to the Speikkogel (2,140 m). The descent follows the ascent path or partially along the prepared slopes.

Read and interpret the avalanche report appropriately Carry and be able to use LVS, probe, and shovel in an emergency Master uphill and downhill ski techniques Have good basic endurance In fog/whiteout: be able to determine location in the terrain with map and compass and use a GPS Be able to ski safely in the terrain, both on varying steepness and snow conditions as well as in narrow curves.By car via the A2 to Wolfsberg in the Lavant Valley. Wolfsberg South motorway exit. Then follow the signs towards Rieding and Koralpe.
