The boardwalk and cabins of Cayeux

The boardwalk of Cayeux-sur-Mer and its 519 beach cabins are the symbol of the resort. They date back to the era of sea bathing (late 19th century) and are still very popular with vacationers and locals.
A tip: at sunset, the low light illuminates all the cabins beautifully. At the main entrance of the beach, right in the middle of the boardwalk that stretches over 2.6 km. This is where people usually start their walk. From the southernmost part of the boardwalk, there is an extraordinary view of the cliffs of Ault. A small path extends the walk towards the southern Amer (a large concrete tower topped with a cross, which serves as a landmark for sailors), the starting point of another walk to discover birds. From the northernmost part, you have a beautiful view towards the red and white Brighton lighthouse, its small pine forest, and the dunes of the white road. From this point, it is possible, following the coastal path (yellow marking), to reach the Hourdel point (7 km), then Saint-Valery-sur-Somme (17 km).
