Maloja - Motta Salacina - Lägh da Cavloc - Maloja

This circular hike leads from Maloja via Lägh da Bitabergh and Lägh da Cavloc back to Maloja. You hike through the elongated village past the Maloja-Kulm to the first sharp bend on the road into Bergell. Don't miss the detour to the parking lot on the other side of the road. The view down into the Bregaglia valley and the hairpin bends of the Maloja road is impressive. The trail now leads along a wide road to the parking lot and the Orden dam, which was built to protect against mudslides. After a short climb, you reach the idyllic Lägh da Bitabergh. Now follows the much longer ascent past alpine rose bushes to the Motta Salacina. It is worth taking a short break to enjoy the beautiful landscape. The trail now follows the slope before leading down to Lägh da Cavloc. Both lakes are wonderful places to rest. From here you can hike back to Maloja on the alpine road.
