Bike loop from Neuf-Brisach to Breisach

Step 1: Neuf-Brisach

- Take the bike path towards Volgelsheim/Germany via the Strasbourg gate (just before the tracks).

Step 2: Volgelsheim

- Turn right onto the shared pedestrian and bike path towards Algolsheim and pass under the bridge.

Step 3: Algolsheim

- Follow the bike path to the left towards Vogelgrun / Breisach.

Step 4: Vogelrgun

- 100m after entering the village, follow the bike path to the left towards Germany and follow the bike sign.

- At the end of rue des blés continue straight (pass the red barriers, then under the bridge).

- At the stop, turn right onto the small section of road (towards Germany).

- At the next stop, cross the road and join the bike path opposite you, then continue towards Breisach / Germany.

Step 5: Breisach am Rhein

- Cross the Alsace Canal bridge, follow the bike path underground, cross the Rhine bridge and continue on the bike path past shops then follow the direction Freiburg/Stadtmitte to the left under the bridge.

- At the roundabout go straight, cross the road and continue to the "Neutorplatz" sign (bike sign). Take Rheinstrasse street to the Tourist Office. For the return, 2 routes are possible either following the Rhine or taking the same way back.

- To follow the Rhine, leaving the Office, turn right and follow the road to the bend, cross this road and follow the path along the Rhine.

- At the bike path crossing, stay left towards "Bahnhof"; then at the intersection turn left towards Colmar/Breisach (the bike path is on the left of the bridge).

- Follow the bike path towards Colmar/Neuf-Brisach to return to the starting point following the same route as on the way out.

Remember to bring good equipment: a helmet, enough water, a repair kit.

Marking to follow: Volgelsheim - Algolsheim - Vogelgrun - Breisach

Short passage on road D601 before Vogelgrun.

Parking Place d'Armes in Neuf-Brisach

You will find a city discovery route at the Breisach am Rhein Tourist Office.

We recommend walking up to St Stephan Cathedral; leaving the Tourist Office, take the street to the right "Metzgergasse" then at the end of the street take the stairs in front of you (to the left of the white building).
