From Paradiesberg to Eselbach

From the parking lot, go to the crossroads at the road with a red/black diamond towards Gasthof Waldeslust. Up here, there is a 360-degree panorama. Buz 12 is a magnificent farmstead, a real gem, then right to the signpost Waldeslust. Now orient towards Paradiesberg. Across meadow paths, you enter the forest – here, the forest truly lives up to its name Schwarzwald – it suddenly becomes very dark, after just a short while your eyes have wandered over the wide high plateau. Always follow the East Trail marking; at a large T-junction with no marking, keep left on the paved road with views of Sulgen and the chapel at Paradieshof gently downhill. At the forest ranger's stand, leave the little road and head to the edge of the forest. Then follow the edge of the forest to the left and into the forest. Now it goes downhill a bit, watch for the red/black diamond marking. Soon we leave the wide path and follow the trail to the left to the rest bench with the old signpost. On a magical path later on a wide forest road along the slope to the signpost Tierstein. Keeping right on the forest road towards Eselbach 2.2 km. It continues uphill; at a large T-junction, take a slight left (marking behind the branches). Soon the wide forest road is left, on a trail over wonderfully soft ground along the slope towards Eselbach. Pass through the first house's yard, then continue through the forest, which is often a bit damp here. On the small road, Eselbach and the snack bar "Schwarzwaldstube" are reached.

After a long rest on the terrace with a wide view or in the cozy warm guest room depending on the season, always continue along the road. Soon it goes uphill to the right towards Rubstock. On the Herrenweg to the organic farm with holiday apartments. The farm has been in the family for generations. Here young and old still work hand in hand.

Then through the forest to the signpost Rubstock. Staying on the slope, orient towards "Kleine Heuscheibe." Uphill in the forest on beautiful soft forest ground. At the fork, take the lower path (yellow diamond on the tree stump slightly hidden) to the signpost Kleine Heuscheibe with wonderful views of Aichhalden on the opposite slope. At the forest ranger’s stand, be careful, here it goes steeply uphill to the right on a meadow path past the Hohstein fountain. After leaving the forest, the first houses come into view. Beautiful properties in Riesen accompany the hiker to the signpost "Wanne Riesen". A few meters further uphill to the right toward Waldeslust and the parking lot appears. Those who want can drive or walk a few meters to the Gasthof and end the hiking day comfortably there.
