The bike route starts in Allensbach and leads via Dettingen, the Duttenbühl and the golf course to Langenrain, where there is a place to stop at Hof Höfen. After a refreshing break, we cycle down the Echo Valley enjoying beautiful views of Lake Überlingen. Then the route leads towards Bodman, via Stahringen, Güttingen and Möggingen. Along the southern shore of Lake Mindelsee, the route goes back to Allensbach via Büntlisried. A three-lake route around the Bodanrück!
The bike route starts at Allensbach train station and leads via Hafner and Kaltbrunner streets, past Mühlenweiher, to Dettingen. At Langenrainer street we turn left and zigzag up to Duttenbühl, which offers an impressive panoramic view over the entire Bodanrück. Parallel to Langenrainer street we then go over shady forest paths through Streitmoos to the golf course. Here it is worth taking a look from the terrace of the restaurant at Lake Überlingen – on a clear day the view reaches as far as the baroque church Birnau.
Shortly after Langenrain the route leads right towards Hof Höfen, where the shady beer garden invites you to a refreshing break. Refreshed we continue the route, passing the "Mittlere Wies'" right past the barbecue hut, and cycle down the Echo Valley until we reach the shore of Lake Überlingen. In Bodman it is worth planning some time to enjoy the lakeside or to discover the famous relief “The Fool’s Ship” by contemporary sculptor Peter Lenk on the outer wall of the “Seeum”.
Then it continues along the Lake Constance cycle path in the direction of Stahringen and Güttingen, before cycling through orchards to Möggingen. Here are located the Max Planck Institute and the BUND Nature Conservation Center – an interesting destination for the curious. From St. Gallus street the path leads left into Mindelseeweg, through the Möggingen reed landscape to the southern shore of Lake Mindelsee. In the species-rich nature reserve there is the opportunity to observe the diversity of nature. Then it goes on to Büntlisried, where with a bit of luck and the right season wild geese can be spotted.
The return route leads over Fohrenbühl and the B33 back into Holzgasse, from where we finally reach Allensbach train station again. A varied three-lake route that brings you many facets of the Bodanrück closer.
