Löwentrail "Mordloch-Runde" - rapid descent into the dreamy Roggen valley

From the starting point at the SC parking lot, the route first leads into the idyllic Längental valley, the smallest of the five valleys in Geislingen an der Steige. The first ascent leads first along narrow, natural paths, then along forest paths up to the Tegelberg. Shortly after the Tegelhof farm, it is worth making a detour to the Kuhfelsen rock with fabulous views of the middle Filstal valley. The trail then continues to Kuchalb, where you can stop for a break at one of the rustic restaurants. The tour then continues along beautiful natural paths through the forest towards Oberweckerstell. From there, the route continues past the gliding area. If you have time, you should definitely plan a short detour to the viewpoints of St. Michael's Chapel or the Messelstein, which towers high above Donzdorf. The route then continues relatively flat across the Alb plateau to Schnittlingen. From here, the route descends rapidly into the Roggen valley. After a short stretch, we reach the Mordloch via the Ravenstein. We recommend a visit to the Obere Roggenmühle, which combines a cozy restaurant with Swabian specialities and freshly caught trout. The route then leads via the district of Eybach past the Himmelsfelsen cliffs on narrow paths back to the starting point.
