You can follow the tracks of the lion in the Göppingen district: The Löwenpfade stand for hiking with quality standards and lure with impressive views, varied natural landscapes, and mysterious places. Sixteen circular hiking trails, between 3 and 24 kilometers long, offer hiking pleasure for almost every taste.
The Löwenpfad "Orchideenpfad" in Reichenbach im Täle is a circular trail certified by the German Hiking Association in the category "nature enjoyment." The 9.3-kilometer-long route starts at the saddle between Reichenbach im Täle and Unterböhringen and leads directly into the Wasserberg-Haarberg nature reserve. The path runs above the large and steep juniper heathlands up to the Haarberg with its wooden crucifix and a fantastic view. Among the many light- and warmth-loving animal and plant species that have developed here, you will find many rare orchids. The route continues through forest and over open calcareous grasslands to the Wasserberghaus, where you can enjoy hearty Swabian food and the distant view over the Three Emperor Mountains and the Lower Filstal.
On natural paths, we hike to the Gairenhof and from there further along the nature reserve. Benches invite you to rest at the most beautiful spots again and again. An old well at the forest edge with a karst spring and the possibility of another stop at the nearby pizzeria in the Schützenhaus in Reichenbach im Täle complete the Orchids Trail.

The juniper heathlands are by no means natural but the result of centuries of grazing. The Upper Filstal is not called the "Goißatäle" for nothing - goat and sheep farming were once widespread here.
An old well at the forest edge and the possibility of another stop at the nearby pizzeria in the Schützenhaus in Reichenbach im Täle complete the Orchids Trail.
Slip-resistant footwear is recommended.
Some paths can be slippery and dangerous when wet. Pay attention to your steps and use hiking poles for stability if necessary.
