BELALP-NESSEL CIRCULAR HIKE

The hike starts at the mountain station of the aerial cableway and leads down to the Chiematte. Here the path turns right and passes in front of the mountain station of the gondola and then crosses the Kelchbach. Now follows a short ascent to the Nessjeri Suone. You then follow this to Nessel. The return route leads back on the lower path to Alpe Bäll and from here back to the mountain station of the aerial cableway.

Sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sun and rain protection, as well as sufficient supplies of food and drinks should be carried, as there may be no possibilities to stop or buy something. Although the path is very well marked throughout, for safety reasons you should always have a suitable hiking map with you. Bring poles or other aids.

Despite the “unable to stray from” marking of the hiking trails, for safety reasons we recommend always carrying an appropriate hiking map so that, for example in the event of a thunderstorm or emergency, you can quickly find a safe area.

Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can cover unevenness, roots, stones or holes in the path. After storms, trees can still fall or branches break off afterwards. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. You must expect such path impairments when undertaking a hike.

Not all rocks or abysses are secured with ropes or railings. Some surefootedness is required. If you think certain sections of the path are impassable for you, you should avoid them.

From Ticino (in summer): Airolo - Nufenen Pass - Ulrichen – Brig

From Italy (Aosta, Mt. Blanc Tunnel): Aosta - Grand Saint Bernard Tunnel (in summer via the pass) - Martigny: highway A9 - Sierre: main road Sierre – Brig

Blatten bei Naters

From Brig you reach Blatten bei Naters via Naters, then take the aerial cableway to the car-free Belalp.

Birgisch / Mund

From Brig you reach Birgisch and Mund via Naters.

Blatten bei Naters can be reached from Brig or Naters by public transport.

You can reach Belalp from Blatten by aerial cableway.

Paid parking spaces are available at Chienzlichrommu and in the parking garage in Blatten bei Naters.
