Eagles, deer and wild boar welcome you!

At the wildlife park in Waldshut, numerous – mainly native – animal species are waiting for you to visit.

Alongside the native wildlife of the southern Black Forest, such as wild boar, ibex and red deer, sika and fallow deer also thrive here. The mighty birds of prey are equally impressive. A variety of birds make their home here, from magpies to eagle owls, and even a golden eagle.
The wildlife park was founded in 1971 to offer the residents of Waldshut-Tiengen a place for peace and relaxation, and to create a location close to the town where native wildlife can be studied. The animals can be observed in a natural environment all year round. There are also vending machines providing special feed for the wild boars and deer. Spanning 22 hectares, the site features not only the spacious animal enclosures but also a large children’s playground, a barbecue area, covered picnic benches, a kiosk offering refreshments and snacks in summer, and a hut that can be hired for private functions.

“With the wildlife reserve, we have created a place where people can find peace and quiet and get to know nature and its native wildlife.” – Dr Werner Jockers, Chairman of the “Wildgehege Waldshut e.V.” association

Further information and contact details can also be found at www.wildgehege-waldshut.de

The wildlife park is open from 09:00 to 18:00 in summer and from 09:00 to 17:00 in winter. There is no admission charge, but the association and its volunteers welcome donations. Donations of suitable food, such as fruit, nuts or – provided it is not mouldy – bread, are also gratefully accepted. However, please do not feed the animals yourself; instead, hand these items over to the wildlife park team.
