The Planet Trail Suhl, just under four kilometers long, conveys the dimensions of our solar system. Starting at the observatory, which symbolizes the sun, we walk over four kilometers to the farthest planet - Pluto - at the Waldfrieden inn.
100 meters on our hiking trail correspond to an incredible 150,000,000 kilometers (1 astronomical unit) in our solar system. Exactly these 100 meters from the observatory (the sun) away is our home planet Earth. Saturn is already one kilometer (10 AU = 1,500,000,000 kilometers) away. And to Pluto, it is only 4 kilometers on our path, but in space, it is 40 AU, i.e., 4.5 billion kilometers.
After visiting the observatory, walk right past the hill with the sky camera and then follow the paved path toward the clinic. After crossing the pedestrian crossing, keep left, pass the blood donation institute, and ascend to the "Red Earth." Here you meet the Herbert-Roth hiking trail. At the next signpost, keep right and follow both hiking trails according to the markings until you reach the Waldfrieden inn and holiday village.

Some parking spaces are available free of charge at the observatory.
