From here you hike along the "Via Obino", the initial stretch of the cantonal road to Monte, which leads to the hamlet of the same name, the oldest hamlet in the Municipality of Castel San Pietro mentioned...
Crossing the historic core, with a small diversion, you can reach the promontory on which, in an isolated and panoramic position, stands the beautiful church of S. Antonio. Follow the official hiking signs and continue in the direction of Monte. You will cross the cantonal road at several points, so be careful before crossing!
After about 1 hour's walk you will reach the centre of Campora, a historic village in the Muggio Valley. The wide, comfortable path enters the forest and from here you ascend slightly in the direction of Monte. The picturesque village, situated on a well-sunlit promontory, offers several possibilities for refreshment before resuming the mountain path that leads to Alpe di Caviano, overcoming a difference in altitude of about 300 metres.
The Alpe di Caviano, at an altitude of 967 metres, is an oasis of relaxation and contemplation just a few steps from the edge of the forest. The large building rests on a plateau that resembles a large balcony and overlooks a breathtaking panorama. Directing one's gaze towards the south-east, the view offers a view of the Po Valley, even allowing one to distinguish the centre of Milan. Heading north-west, the gaze wanders over the hills and mountains to the peaks of the Alps. The view is generous and unforgettable and can also be enjoyed from some of the rooms on the first floor. The restaurant is carefully furnished to recall the places dear to the culture and tradition of the region and Monte Generoso. Outside, a beautiful terrace allows you to enjoy the fabulous panorama while savouring tasty, carefully cooked dishes (check opening times).
At the Alpe di Caviano you can enjoy a privileged stop before descending again to Castel San Pietro by taking a characteristic mule track with a pebbly bottom that descends gently and takes about 1 hour to return to our starting point.
