The route starts in Friedhofstraße and takes you along the Ölberggarten, which is an addition to the Holy Sepulchre to represent the conditions of the landscape in Jerusalem symbolically. Along the St. Nicholas' Cemetery - the oldest burial place in Görlitz and today a historicial monument.
The way continues past the Hoffnungskirche. The Hoffnungskirche is an old church in the Königshufen development area. It is not the remains of a centre of a village, but the village church from Deutsch-Ossig. This church had to make way for lignite mining.
Run along the fields in the direction of Klingewalde to reach the historic old town along Rothenburger Straße, where it is possible to see the towers of St. Peter's Church from the bridge. You will get back to the starting point in Friedhofstraße through the alleys of the Nikolaivorstadt.
If you turn into "An der Alten Ziegelei", you will jog along the fields, turn right twice. Continue jogging via Birkenallee and Rothenburger Straße. Jog straight ahead along the main street at the traffic light until you have a view of St. Peter's Church. At this point cross the street and turn right. Jog back through the narrow alleys of the Nikolaivorstadt. You will pass St. Nicholas' Church and the Holy Sepulchre.
running shoes, weather-resistant and breathable clothing, sun and rain protection, drinking water, mobile phone
Please be careful when crossing the street.
By car, drive from the Görlitz city centre via Heilige-Grab-Straße.
Parking is possible directly in Friedhofstraße.
You can also shorten this route and jog back via Ziegeleiweg.
