From Gardelegen we follow the federal road for quite a stretch, then ride on small paths and roads through the valleys of the Zichtau hills, also called the Altmark Switzerland.
The friendly and hilly landscape offers a varied route.
The theme of water accompanies us, two outdoor pools and two water-treading facilities provide refreshment. In Klötze, a visit to the animal park is recommended, but the town of Klötze also entices us with its small-town flair.
A good bicycle and refreshments for a picnic on the roadside.
The Altmark circular route is well signposted and can be ridden without danger.
On the Altmark circular route up to Klötze
Take the train to the station of the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen.
From Klötze there are regular bus connections to Salzwedel and Gardelegen; the bus also transports bicycles.
Since the stage is short, the return trip to Mieste station can also be taken.

From Gardelegen on the Altmark circular route first around the town in a curve and later along the cycle path by the federal road.
In Wiebke turn west towards Zichtau.
In Zichtau we ride past the pool until we reach the resting place at the water-treading facility.
Now it goes through the Schwiesau heath into the small town of Klötze.
The landscape of this stage is particularly beautiful, so bring refreshments and take a cozy break at the resting area with the water-treading facility in Zichtau, enjoying the views of the Altmark landscape.
