Through the vineyards and wine villages Deidesheim - Forst - Ruppertsberg

The hike starts at Deidesheim train station. There is no separate marking. Therefore, it is best to download the route in advance:
Following Bahnhofstraße, we reach the historic center of Deidesheim with the market square, historic town hall with the Museum of Wine Culture, and places to stop for refreshments. From here, we follow Heumarktstraße and after about 200 m turn into Stadtmauergasse. It leads past romantic old town residences to Weinstraße. We turn left on it, walking a short distance up to Kaisergarten and then hike a bit northwards. From here, a view opens to the neighboring community of Forst with its famous vineyards. We walk parallel west of Forst. Those who wish can take a detour and walk Weinstraße directly through Forst. Above the northern end of Forst, we turn left and ascend to the Deutsche Weinstraße hiking trail (white sign with green grape). We turn left again back towards Deidesheim. Shortly after, we first pass the lookout point Lagenstein and then the Hahnenböhler Kreuz. Benches invite you repeatedly to rest and enjoy the wonderful view. The path now continues above Deidesheim to the Mühltal parking lot. We cross the parking lot and follow the sign "Pfalzblick." After a short ascent, we reach the excursion restaurant with a beautiful sun terrace and spectacular panoramic view over the Rhine Plain. In front of Pfalzblick, a farm road leads down again through the vineyards to state road 518 on the left. We cross the road and continue through the vineyards in the direction of Ruppertsberg. Shortly before the community, the path turns left and ends at district road 11, which we cross and after 50 m turn left into Obergasse. At the end of Obergasse, a footpath leads right back to Deidesheim. In this way, we finally reach Deidesheim station, from where it is only a few minutes through Bahnhofstraße towards the market square and town hall, where we can end the day over a glass of Deidesheim wine.

Please note that this hiking route partly leads on farm roads through the vineyards used by the winemakers. Especially in autumn, we kindly ask for mutual consideration.
