Star route around Bernkastel-Kues - Route 2: Circular route on the Mosel Cycle Route via Trittenheim to Bernkastel-Kues

You start in Bernkastel-Kues at the Mosel parking lot below the old town, from where you follow the Mosel Cycle Route upstream.

Passing the beautiful wine villages of Mülheim, Brauneberg, Wintrich, and Piesport, you reach after about 25 kilometers the oldest wine village in Germany, Neumagen-Dhron. Here, a short tour on the "Archaeological Circular Route" is worthwhile – at 17 stations you can see, among others, the famous wine ship, a school scene, a hairdressing scene, lease payment, etc. With the authentically reconstructed wine ship Stella Noviomagi, you can even take a small river trip on weekends.

From Neumagen-Dhron, you continue downstream to Trittenheim, where you cross the Mosel to start your return journey.

Shortly before Piesport, the authentically restored pressing plant testifies to the central viticultural significance of the place in Roman times. The bridge takes you over the Mosel in Piesport, after which you shortly afterwards change back to the left Mosel side in Minheim. Via Kesten and Lieser, you finally reach your starting point Bernkastel-Kues again.

Along the route, numerous restaurants, seasonal wine taverns, and wine estates invite you to make a stop.
