From the starting point, the wildlife and hiking park in Silz, it goes 10 km via L493 and B48 to Eschbach. Below the Madenburg castle ruins, there is the opportunity to park the car in the large parking lot. The castle is about 1 km away and can be easily reached on foot. Then it goes along the country road 509 to Landau. The zoo is located directly next to the university and the festival grounds. Parking is also available here. The route then continues to Rhodt under Rietburg. Here there is the option to take the chairlift up to the castle. The 220 meters of altitude are covered in 8 minutes. Those who wish can pick up a pack of chocolate kisses at the Trauth confectionery manufactory in Herxheim on the way home.
Starting wild… A wolf in the morning chases away worries and troubles. The pack is publicly fed daily at 11 am.

2:00 pm: Animal affair
Freshly energized, it’s getting wild. Petting zoo, tigers, and monkey house guarantee the whole family a great start to the afternoon.
4:30 pm: Swing up high
220 meters in altitude in 8 minutes. Take the chairlift up to Rietburg.
7:00 pm: Sweet ending
Figure care! “Herxheim carrots,” which are famous beyond the borders of the Southern Wine Route.
