18th stage of the Itinerary known at the European level mainly for the enormous historical importance it represents, as it celebrates and retraces the feat of the "Glorious Repatriation." This is one of the most important events in the history of the Waldensians: in 1689, Pastor Henri Arnaud, starting from Lake Geneva (Switzerland), led a thousand men 250 km across Savoy to regain their homeland after the exile they had suffered for religious reasons, reaching as far as Bobbio Pellice in Val Pellice. The Italian section of the itinerary, which can be covered in 6 days and is 110 km long, has its starting point on the French border at the Little Moncenisio Pass, crosses Val Susa and Val Chisone, and ends in the town of Bobbio Pellice in Val Pellice. The ascent to the Colle di Costapiana is rather long, but very gradual. From the Colle, where the Waldensians first glimpsed the longed-for native mountains, take trail No. 326 eastward (in the first part open to off-road motorcycles), skirting the Pomerol brook until you reach the now ruined houses of the Rif. hamlet (h. 1.15 from the Colle). D opposite the first Rif house, with a sundial from 1877, take the path to the right that heads upward indicated by a wooden arrow with No. 4. When you reach a cart track, descend gently to the hamlet of Allevè and, always following the signs No. 4, arrive in Pragelato hamlet of Grange. (0.45 from Rif).

Start from Mario Costa Square in the hamlet of Granges: a short climb, behind the Café des Alpes on Via degli Alpini and at the fountain turn left taking the path to Allevé. The path is immediately a bit challenging, but scenic, and after about 40 minutes you reach the hamlet: first the chapel dedicated to Notre Dame des Neiges, then the Locanda Allevé and taking a left, the hamlet bakery. From there, continue straight to the Cabòt fountain along a grassy road and at the fork, follow the signs to the left for the Costa Piana Pass, climbing through larch woods and alpine pastures and, if breath still permits, you can use the Pass as a base to reach Mt. Genevris.
This is quite a sun-exposed hike, so don't forget sunscreen and a hat, as well as a good pair of boots and poles
The only refreshment along the route is the Locanda Allevé, but a few fountains are encountered that allow water refilling.
Drive to the Granges hamlet on S.P. 23 del Sestriere and park conveniently in Mario Costa Square, near the Caffé des Alpes.
ARRIVE bus line from Turin, Granges stop (Albergo Passet). From the stop, take the small inner street Via Allevé and reach Piazza Mario Costa and Caffé des Alpes. Behind the Caffé des Alpes, take Via degli Alpini to the fountain and then turn left taking the path to Allevé.

In the vicinity of Rif, a township whose name is probably of Saracen origin, it is very common to encounter wetlands especially in spring and autumn.
To catch our breath, we stop at the charming hamlet of Allevé, which was almost completely recovered in the 1980s, and at Rif, which was abandoned in the 1960s.
